Action Bimectin Plus combines two active ingredients—ivermectin and clorsulon—providing a broad spectrum of activity against gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes (adults, larvae 3 and 4, and inhibited stages), trematodes (adults and immature), mites, and insects.
Ivermectin works by increasing the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions, causing hyperpolarization of the nerve or muscle cells, leading to paralysis and death of the parasite. It also promotes the secretion of gamma-aminobutyric acid at the synapses of the parasites, interrupting nerve impulses.
Clorsulon acts on trematodes, both immature and mature, by inhibiting enzymes in the glycolytic cycle.
